Looking to rent with a view to buy and relocate (Puerto del Carmen area)

Hello everyone and thanks for letting me join this forum. I am looking to relocate to Lanzarote (Puerto del Carmen area) within the next year (Covid 19 pandemic allowing of course). We are not sure of how to do this on a permanent basis so looking at somewhere to rent in the area from around Oct (20) to Jan (21) if travel is alllowed so we can have good look around and look at buying somewhere to live but also get the full info and what is required to be able to live in Lanzarote.

It would be just my wife and I, we are not looking at running a business but semi retirement, unsure of what costs are, although we have visited this beautiful island on many occasions and love the place, so looking at some information from people who have done this before.

the Do's and the Don'ts

Who not to use and best to use

Rough order of magnitude of costs, legalities and any hidden costs, healthcare etc

However firstly, we would be looking at somewhere to rent for that period, so if anyone can help us out with that, it would be extremely grateful.

Good Evening Kevin and Karen,

My partner and I are looking at moving to Lanzarote in about 2.5 yrs and counting hehe. We already have a place in playa blanca, like yourselves joined this forum for help and advice. I've seen a few links on here already that are very useful. So I would suggest clicking on a few, just while your waiting for other peoples input.

Hi Kevin and Karon,

We have an apartment in Los Pocillios that I rent long term usually 6 months minimum.

This was our first step to retirement, we bought it 5 years ago so have the knowledge of pitfalls and costs etc and are now looking toward another property to move there once our son finishes his GCSEs next year.

I can also offer help and advise of the stages in buying and relocating, contacts etc.

If you are interested let me know and we can move to private email where I can send pictures, location prices etc.

The apartment is rented at the moment until 31/07 after which we will fly out for 3 weeks in August.

The Apartment would them be available from the beginning of Sept.

Hi

I bought an apartment in Puerto Del Carmen in 2018.

The estate agent we used is called Vazquez Immobilien and they also look after long term rentals, (e.g. winter rentals Oct - March )

Vicky Vazquez the owner was very helpful and she speaks English. Link below.

You could also check out websites like Owners Direct and Holiday Homes Direct as owners may be happy to do long term rentals until things get back to normal with tourism.

Hi, an exciting time planning!

We are moving to the island next month. We have lived there before and love Lanzarote. If you need legal advice or help with residents permits etc. we have been using Stephanie at Clarity consulting. She has been absolutely wonderful and been so patient with all our questions. Also, she does not over charge which is always a worry when dealing with legal matters.

Have you seen the Lanzarote Information website. That gives lots of useful information. Also there is a Facebook page called buy sell let rent Lanzarote and one called need to know Lanzarote open forum.

Hi Dee

I have a 2 bedroom house in the lovely Puerto Calero. Next to PDC. We are free from middle of November. Perfect for a lady on there own stunning rooftop views if that's any good to you. Regards jackie
