Hi all,

Does anyone live on the Las Villas complex on Avenida de Monaco in PDC (or know someone who does)? I really like the bungalows and am hoping I can chat with an owner about the complex.

I have already visited an estate agent expressing an interest in buying a property on this complex but would be delighted to hear from someone who owns a property here.

Many thanks

Hi Sue,

Many thanks for your reply.  That is very helpful especially regarding the rental aspect.

Hello

We bought a small villa on Avenida de Monaco a few years ago and it was the best thing we ever did. We had the idea to make all the repairs needed leading up to our retirement and perhaps rent it out to a few people in the meantime. Our neighbours are all nice people and very helpful.

If you had renting in mind then it’s best to go through and agent, as we have had mixed experiences, but this would be true of any property anywhere. The first couple we had where brilliant and we are still friends with them now. But they wanted long term and we couldn’t make proper use of our villa. They were with us for about 18 months. The next couple were also lovely, but our little villa was too small for them. Then came the family from hell. I won’t bore you with the list, but it changed our mind about renting in future.

We haven’t had any particular problems relating to the property. They are built very well with good quality materials. The only regular maintenance they really need is painting. If you can use a roller, that’s no problem. The roof needs a better quality paint, but it also needs proper cleaning first, we have that done for us. I can recommend people for that and it doesn’t cost a great deal.

The only other concern that people seem to have is with the water pump. If the property is left vacant for any length of time, it can cause problems, but again that can happen anywhere. And I do know a man who can fix that.

I am happy to have a chat and answer any questions if I can

Best regards

Hi Alan

Thank you for providing all of the information.  It is hugely helpful and I am delighted that you love your villa.

I would like to pick your brain some more if you don't mind about the villas.  Would you mind if I PM'd you?  I won't take up too much of your time.

Many thanks

Fiona
