Booked a hire car from the UK for seven days in Lanzarote picked car up at airport firm stung me for a further 160 Euros so in total paid nearly 300 Euros for a battered Skoda . The firm in question is gold cars will not be using ever again . Total rip off

This is really bad - I had exactly the same thing with Gold Cars a couple of years ago. I elected the cheapest hire option and picked up the most battered Fiat 500 I have ever seen! Luckily I took loads of pre hire photos. When I got home I had an extra €160 charge from them. They said there was damage to the car. ( I had no new damage) I had paid for the car on my credit card and it took ages to sort out but I did eventually get all my money back.

Hi there.
As a visitor of the island, I recommend you not to book with external platforms but only directly with companies located in the island. I have my best experience with Pluscar. Get strait in their homepage and write them an email asking them about all what is included an excluded. They will answer to you within hours. You could even book straight after the answer. They have even a boot located at the upper side of the parking place where you can hold and give back the car at the airport . In my opinion they have the best deals in the island.
I hope you complained to their CEO too

Autoreisen are the best company to use. U pay exactly what's quoted online. No hidden extras. We have been using them for 8 years or more.
