I'm looking to move to Lanzarote for my retirement in 2021 /2022 .....long term rental, or there is always the possibility to buy ?

I'm looking for a likeminded aimiable, friendly easy going person who would like the same and would like to consider sharing a (minimum) 2 bedroom 2 bathroom property with me? Male / female, must speak English ( but not necessarily as 1st language) flexible on nationality, but personality, good character and integrity important. This is an idea i have had for a while, and have decided to "test the water" to see if anyone  out there who may be interested in the idea?

Hi there Gilly,

What a great and bold post to put out here.

I imagine there are people who have a similar idea to yours, as Lanzarote really is a fabulous place.

Not sure I will be able to retire as soon as 2021/2 as I would need to earn something at least, to keep me going.

I'm a qualified and experienced English language teacher but there aren't a great number of teaching opportunities on the island, unfortunately.

I know Haria quite well, up in the north of the island and also a few people English people who have lived there for decades. Not sure if you know it?

Anyway, I'd like to be in touch with you as it's a bit of a dream for me to make a life on Lanzarote at some point.

Hope you have positive responses.

Wishing you well.

Rose

Hi Rose

Lovely to hear from you. Theres hardly a corner or road of the island  I don't know . I Iived in Costa Teguise and then north of Tahiche . Been going  to Lanz since 1985, and I lived there for 10 yrs until 2010 my youngest son ( now 28) he grew up there,... when I divorced I moved there with him . Best upbringing ever!   We came back when he was 17 as he wanted to study engineering at Uni, ( which i'd always known was  his desire) and now he has  successfully forged his eng. career. It only he'd wanted to be a fisherman!!

'm 64, and I want to retire there. I sea swim every day when I'm there ,( living &on holiday) and i wish to do it he same long into my retirement !  A simple, relaxed lifestyle, easy going.

I'm still working in UK ( have to,I'm a WASPI !)  And thought I'd put my finger in the water do you speak, and see if I could  find a like minded person, who wants the same lifestyle and may consider a share?

I'd be interested to know a little more about  you ..age, what kind of lifestyle You're looking for...or long or short term, etc

I'm a fit , able mother & grandmother ...and want the best quality retirement I can have!  Chilled, healthy , relaxed and sea swimming.

Hope to hear from you again...I believe all the best  start with a dream, turn that into  an idea , which can turned into a plan ... and then  a will to succeed  makes  possibilities and reality.. ( very broad ideas i know, but its a start! )

Best wishes to you

Gill

What an amazing idea, I’m too young to retire unfortunately

But I will follow my dream when I can.

All the best for your future xx

If only it was in a few years time. I would have jumped at the chance. But I'm not retired yet. I'm hoping to buy something now and rent it out until I'm ready to move to Lanzarote full time. Good luck in your search.
