Hi, we are staying in the Hotel Paradise in Playa Blanca. My child (aged 3) has a medical condition called Haemophilia which may involve us having to go to a hospital in the event of an emergency to have a doctor give him an intravenous injection. Could someone tell me what 24 hour hospital last would be nearby that hotel who would be able to offer this service should we need it ?

The nearest main hospital is in Arrecife which is just a little above 30kms from Playa Blanca, or if you have private medical cover Hospiten which is at the back side of Puerto del Carmen on the main Tias road.

Thanks for your reply. That would be very far in the case of an emergency.. would a medical centre be able to simply give an injection to a child?

Hi, I think in your case you would need to ask at the Centro Salud (Health Center) in Playa Blanca, ask at the Hotel where the nearest would be, and again as it is possibly a special injection I would take someone along who is fluent in Spanish. I hope this helps.
