Hi, I am considering buying an apartment in Lanzarote (once the Covid issue has gone). Would you say this is a good idea? Probably I will want to rent out to holiday makers.  Is it really complicated to sort out all the documents and tourist licence?  Is there anything in particular I need to be wary of?

Hi

We bought last year in Puerto del Carmen. Used Ropers who were fabulous. They sorted everything out really smooth purchase. I would definitely recommend them. Good luck.

Hi, I am currently looking at property as well.  I would be purchasing as a non-resident.  I've had a good look around and it depends on where you are purchasing your property.  What I have learned is not to rely on any rental income to pay or cover costs from talking with people who own property here. On a postive note, I know of a few people who have  places in PDC and have the same people coming back to rent year in, year out.  I can't comment on the touristic licence and I'm sure some of the locals can help you out on that side.

As a non-resident, this article caught my eye regarding the current Spanish government.  The current government are both left wing parties and this article might be of interest.  https://www.spanishpropertyinsight.com/2020/11/05/political-risk-increasing/.  I'm not sure if this would apply to you, so disregard this, if it doesn't.  Spanish property insight is also a good website generally and there are some great articles that I found very helpful.

Good luck with your house hunting and I hope you find your place in the sun.
