Maybe someone can tell me what it's like to live here permanently?

We moved sold up and moved permanently to Lanzarote in 2019, obtained residency in 2020. We’re in out mid 60s and thankfully retired!

Best decision ever.

We bought our fabulous forever house in Playa Honda early this year after renting various properties in different parts of the island, including lovely Arrieta.
I’d suggest you explore the island to find the location that’s best for you, learn Spanish properly (not a few words online) and try to make friends with local people unless you want Little Britain with sunshine, which is fine of course if that’s your choice.

The quality of life here is healthy and infinitely better, prices amazingly low in comparison to England, lovely weather of course and easy access to a variety of experiences from challenging walks to arts and music events.

Good luck and enjoy!

Hola..y gracias por su informe interesante.Great to hear you are having a nice time.Reading between the lines I'm guessing you have a decent command of Espanol already...With the language comes a closer connection to local people and culture.A must for me..:)
