Hi Both

Apologies for jumping in here, we too are planning to move once the restrictions are lifted, we have owned property on the island since 2015 and Stef is our tax agent and advisor, she is brilliant and has told us too that there is currently a loophole but not sure how long it will be there. ...

...

We have been visiting since 1996 so know the island and many people well.

We are devastated by Brexit as we have planned this move for 5+ years but couldn't move earlier due to our sons schooling, my retirement and funds etc, our son was doing his GCSEs this year, but of course they have been cancelled, then we have had covid then Brexit.

We have a separate solicitor based in Arrecife who also has been brilliant.

If you need help just ask as I can give you accurate information on costs for our 1 bed in pdc.

We our selling our UK house to finance a villa in PB and the balance will fund another small apartment, hopefully to rent out.

If you need short or long term accommodation we do rent our apartment through Steph so you will find it on her website.

Thanks

Ange and Steve

Helo Ange and Steve

That’s great thank you 😊

Yes Steph been Amazing for info

Many thanks for your help/info

Maybe it’s me why would you vote out to lose freedom of movement between countries and free range of  Import / Export ?

Yes it cost our taxpayers/ government 14.5 billion a year !

And for me I really do believe half the people that voted leave ! Really actually did not know what or why they voted for they just jumped on the bandwagon!

Just my opinion!

The government gave very little Brexit information.

They should have put out a proper booklet / leaflets for all the reasons why we should stay and why we should leave ie maybe 25 key bullet points for each scenario.

Not a 4” add in newspapers that people didn’t understand

Again just my opinion

Shot ourself in the foot 🦶

And the hardworking taxpayers will see none of that 14.5 billion the government are not spending on EU now it will be wasted somewhere else

By a clueless Tory government

Dave really annoyed.com

Anyway I’m off my soap box 📦 now

Many thanks again

And info is really helpful

Best regards

Dave

Hi Ange  & Steve,

A bit shocked about your tax payment? I was told that unless you are resident in Lanzarote you pay tax in UK and cannot pay in both countries? An agreement between UK & Spain?

Hi

We have just applied for our Visa at Spanish consulate in uk and one of the provisos is that you have private medical insurance supplied by a Spanish company and we got ours at Sabadell bank called Sanitas it is around £1000 @ per year but it is what they request as you need full insurance to cover you in case you need repatriation.

No it was at Manchester as we live in the East Mids .... when you apply for the appt they send you all the list of requested info & usually appts are within 2 wks but we had delays awaiting medical certificate apostille etc you will wait a good 2 to 3wks for all these so I would suggest you only apply for the appt  2 to 3wks in advance you can specify when you would like it I think they close one day a week but have been working weekends? good luck !

Helo Tony

We have taken out DKV integral elite Spanish health insurance.

Thru Veronica Aldridge very helpful lady and he colleague Augustina who talks you thru it all they are excellent.

We have applied to the London consulate for an appointment on the 23rd July

We applied a week ago Monday heard nothing yet

They reckon can be 15 working days with the London to even get an appointment

People say on reviews the London one has bad reviews and time scales are awful

Especially once you have paperwork u only have 3 months to submit it

We have no paperwork done yes as waiting for appointment first

Because the Acro certificate and doctors certificate and marriage cert have to be notarised and then sent to Hague for Apostilled and then sent to Arrecife for sworn translation

Which takes approximately 2 weeks

To get Acro and docs certs takes 10/14 days to get in this country

Acro £55 each

Docs cert approximately £45

Best regards

Dave

Who are the idiots who voted out !

British fishing now will suffer massively as used to get millions from EU

British farmers the same will suffer now due to no EU grants

And no freedom of movement

And young families and Oap’s cannot afford to retire or spend 6 months in Spain now due to Brexit because you have to prove you have €37,000 for first person to live

And €6658 for second person etc

So approximately €34,000 for first year residency

And double for 2 years after that and the same again for years 4&5

Made life really difficult 😞

Well done Brexit out voters !

U were lied to by Boris and Nigel farague

Best regards

Dave very annoyed Dave
