We are about to book a holiday for January 2021 into Puerto Chico at Playa Blanca.

It is a few years since we have stayed there and always thought the location was fantastic.

Do you know if the nearby building work at the Harbour/Punta Limones has started or finished yet, as nearby building noise would be quite off putting?

If you think that this would impact our enjoyment, where else would you recommend staying in Playa Blanca?

Our requirements are:

High quality self catering accommodation for 2 adults

Outside private terrace with sea views

Easy walking distance to bars and restaurants

WiFi

Budget up to £1000 per week

Thanks!

Hi,

Sorry to take so long to reply. When we left just before the lockdown in March the harbour was very busy with lots of lorries coming and going delivering rocks. I would definitely reconsider staying at Puerto Chico as it is both noisy and dusty. The picture I have uploaded was taken from the end of the metal fencing which has been put up in front of the Irish Anvil to try and give you an idea. Work is supposed to be finished in 2021 but with the lockdown it is probably behind. I don't know where to suggest staying but some friends of mine stayed in the Elba Premium Suites which is in the Elba Hotel Playa Blanca. It was refurbished and has been open about a year now, they couldn't fault it. Hope this helps. Cheers, Ashley.

Hi There,

The building work is still in progress and not due to be finished until 2021.

There are plenty of other places to stay along that stretch that wouldn't disturb your holiday.

Good Luck

Try the Iberostar Selection, further along by a few minutes, wonderfully upgraded hotel, food is among the best we have had.
