My wife and I are retired. We moved to Playa Blanca in July 2021 with non-lucrative visas. This gives you residency for 1 year then you have to renew for another 2 years. Then same again until 5 years when you can get long term residency.  We renewed our residency this year until 2024. Note ...

...this is a residency visa and you are expected to live here and pay relevant taxes.

There is now plenty of information available on the process but feel free to message me if you want more info. I wrote a blog about our experiences.

Hi David.. could you tell us where we can view your blog please? sounds like it could be very useful to us

Thanks...

There are 14 posts on my blog from deciding to move, going through the visa process, moving, TIE, renewals etc.

Please note as I say in my blog I’m not qualified to give advice but having been through the process it has been useful to a lot of people who made the move after us. Also, although I’ve updated posts and links since being here, it applies to the time when we did things, and of course things can change.

Any questions feel free to ask.

With all the joys of brexit came the fact that UK is no longer a member of the EU (you probably missed that amid all the euphoria) therefor we are no longer entitled to stay in the EU for longer than 90 days in every 180 days. Residency can be obtained with a property investment of a minimum of 500 000 Euros, additionally full medical insurance is required.  Many, financially are forced to leave.

For retirees the non-lucrative visa is best as you aren't planning to work (being retired).

The requirements are: A secure annual income of €25,816 per person, or €32,270 for a couple.

You have to apply for the visa in the UK at the Spanish consulate.

I wouldn't do that myself  . It would stop you have nhs in the UK. And you wouldn't  be a citizen  in your own country just stay    90days  in a 180. . Get advice from a good  solicitor.  Before doing anything.  Ropers are very trustworthy.  Good luck.

We've bought here . And are happy with 90 days untill the government  changes it.

Hi, I'm holidaying in PB at the end of April.  I'd really like to go for a good head massage, is there anywhere you would recommend, local rather than hotel based sessions. Thank you
