Solar Panel Grants

We had solar panels fitted about three years ago. The Engineer was excellent and we’ e had a very good result with significant savings. At the time of fitting the Engineer applied, on our behalf, for Endesa to switch us to a feedback tariff and for the local authority to give a grant (estimated at 25-40% of the cost of outlay) towards the overall cost. Endesa took over a year to switch us to the appropriate tariff so that we get some credit for surplus power that we feed back to the grid. After three years we are still waiting for the grant and we have a friend in the same position. Please can anyone shed any light on this? Is there any way that we can encourage the local authority to pay the grant? Thanks!

We are in exactly the same position, still waiting!

Ours was installed in March 2023!

Thanks Caroline - we have just learnt that it is possible to go online and check your account with the local council and this should, at the least, show that the grant application has been registered with them. To do this you need a digital certificate - we are going to try and obtain the certificate and check our account. Regards, Phil
