I’m moving to the island in July/August. I am asthmatic and will be looking for a Doctor to prescribe me my bi-monthly asthma inhalers. Can anyone advise me of someone and what the process is for repeat prescriptions? Many thanks, Sam

Hi Sam, no need for doctors prescription for asthma inhalers. I take my inhaler to pharmacist ( just so they know what I need) and they replace, about half the price of UK .

Hi Martin. That’s great to know thank you. Do they normally need a bit of notice in order to get them in?

They normally have these items in stock, I've never had to order them.

Hi Martin

Does that include the brown inhaler (clenil)?

Thanks!

Hi

Not sure what nationality you are, but if you have an E111 card you can see a doctor FREE of charge.

The Medical Centre in Puerto Del Carmen is beside the Biosphere Shopping Centre on Calle Manguia (see map below

You need to bring your E111 and your PASSPORT

If you are from UK, I think you can still use the service until end of Dec 2020.

My husband and I used it last year and we found it very good. Very short waiting time. I'd recommend it.

Stay safe.

Thanks Wildrover.

We are planning on buying a property and relocating to PB next year. I'm scouring the forum for useful information, contacts and helpful nuggets as part of my preparation. I'm from the UK btw.

Great 👍

Thanks for the info Martin. I will go the pharmacy (if I can ever get a flight back to the island)

Regards

Hi Wildrover,

Thanks for the information. I’m from the U.K. and have a house in Playa Blanca (although still stuck in U.K. at the moment ☹️). Ideally am looking for a medical practice in the Playa Blanca area. But as I am able to get my inhalers from the pharmacy (as per another members advice) I am hoping that is all I will need. But very useful information, thank you very much.

I can't say for sure on that one, but certainly the blue is ok, which I use.
