hi all

thinking of doing a winter break (month or so )  in canary's. not been to Lanzarote yet so could be an option. We are in our mid 60's and have travelled widely but my wife has been diagnosed with dementia so need to make things easier. love Spain and culture and weather will be a factor when choosing resort. Any advice welcome

thanks Barry

Hi,

we are in our mid sixties and have been to Playa Blanca several times which is lovely. We are going over in November for three months as my husband is retiring.  Maybe others can advise regarding accommodation? We have stayed in Timafaya Palace half board which was wonderful as well as in a private villa. I suppose it depends how much walking you want to do and how near to shops cafes you want to be and sort of accommodation you would like.

Julia

I’m not selling anything but we are residents on this beautiful island.

My mother had similar issues and we found Matagorda ideal, a very peaceful resort near to many good and accessible restaurants, a lovely beach and flat, paved walks with no traffic next to the ocean.

It’s not a party place, but might be worth looking at, we found self catering with lots of eating out was better than hotels for all of us.
