I'm in the very early stages of planning a retirement in Playa Blanca.

My wife is disabled and currently uses a stairlift (Stannah type) to reach our top floor. I am trying to find out if it is possible/easy/difficult to have a stairlift fitted in your own property on the Island. The availability or otherwise of this will have a significant impact on the type of property we buy for our relocation.

If you have any idea of relative costs (compared to UK or Ireland), or know of a company on the island who fits stairlifts that I can get in touch with, i would be greatly appreciative.

Thanks in advance.

David.

Simpler to buy a property which is all on one ground  floor.

I am not saying that such stair stair-lifts do not exist, I am saying that I have never seen one in a property.

Keep the solution simple...it will be easier in the longer term.

Hi John and thanks for the reply.

Looking for all on one ground floor of course is one of the options, but I'm finding that is seriously limiting the number of properties which are then viable. Hence the investigation of availability of stairlifts.

Thanks again

David.

I had 1 fitted by Veritec 4 years ago & have been very happy with it. I had quotes from 2 other companies but felt they were very unprofessional
