We have just bought a house in PDC and will be relocating to the island at some point in 2023. We are an LGBT+ family and are hoping to make friends with likeminded people on Lanzarote. If anyone wants to get in touch, we'd love to hear from you. All the best.

Hi Adrian,

pleasure to make your acquaintance. My name is Peter, I'm 47, and my family (husband Magnus 44yo, and daughter Freya 4yrs old) will be moving to Lanzarote later in 2023. We will however spend more and more time on the island between now and then. We are also keen to make new friends and build a community.

Where are you going to live on Lanzarote? We just bought a house in Puerto del Carmen. Would love to hear more about your plans and perhaps we can meet up for coffee or beer when you get over there.

Best wishes,

Peter

Hi Peter,

Thank you for your message and introducing your family.

At present we are trying to sell our house. We have had a few viewings it's just a waiting game. We have booked the first week of September to view properties. We are looking possibly either Playa blanca/Rubicon/Yaiza/Macher.

It maybe be late this year or early next year just depends on selling our house.

I'd like to meet up for a drink and meet you all. As I need to make friends and enjoy my new life in Lanzarote.

Look forward hearing from you soon.

Kind regards Adrian

Hi again Adrian,

wonderful and exciting news!..They are all lovely areas. We thought about Playa Blanca, but the school we wanted to send our daughter to was a little too far away. We also nearly bought a house in Macher, but the sale didn't go through in the end. It took us quite some time to find the right property as the market is a bit fierce just now it seems. I will also be on the Island beginning of September, but only for the 1st and 2nd to conclude the purchase of our house. I'd be happy to meet up this time, or of course some other time.

Wishing you all the best with the house hunting. If you need any info or advice, we'd be happy to help. One thing I would have liked to know when we started the process was that it's really important to look out for all the built up areas on a plot having been registered and that info on nota simple corresponds with cadastral records. We have been disappointed and had to walk away a number of times from properties we really liked because the owners just built stuff and never bothered to register the extensions.

Anyway, you probably know this already so apologies if I waffled on.

Best wishes,

Peter
