Building history police station

Hi
My wife and I visited Puerto del Carmen last week for the first time in over 30 years.
We were looking for the hotel we stayed in which is up the hill and we think is now a police station to the right as you go up the hill ) . It is opposite the large shopping centre. The structure looked familiar.
Does anyone know if that police station was formerly a hotel ?
