Hi

We are coming to Lanzarote in December for a long stay of about 2 years or more. We are pensioners. what is the best thing to do to get health care cover please? Can we get insurance once we arrive in Lanzarote and  if so who can we contact?  Has anyone been in this situation?  We would welcome your advice

Thank you

We moved here 5 years ago and have found the health service excellent. Your E111 will give you cover to start with but after a few months we became residents and the UK paid for us to join the health service here. This has tax implications so may not suit you. Private plans abound but are expensive. We only use private if the National service is slow.

Hope this helps.

Malcolm
