we are staying for 4 weeks ( arrive Jan 3rd 2020 ) self catering apartment at the las tababias complex , please advise on good value for money eateries ( we have simple tastes ) around the area .

Pinocchio cheap and cheerful. Its very popular, prices are very reasonable, you might have to wait on a table over the holidays but it will get quieter after the 5th Jan.
If you want Chinese Food The Sunshine is very cheap, spotless clean. I only tried this place for the first time this year. Starter and Main course €7.95. If you are willing to pay a little more The Enjoy is fantastic.
If you fancy a night in New World Chinese do a take away. Nico's Italian off the strip also do a take away. They do the best Pizza.
Bodega Jose at the harbour in the Old Town are famous for Roast Dinner Carvery . They close on Mondays. Check opening times on Facebook.
There are lots of reasonable priced restaurants. I've found you get better value the further you go down the strip (away from the Faronies)
