Hi there you probably hear this alot so will keep this short, we are currently looking at property on the island and have seen one in tahiche that ticks all the boxes. We are in our late 40s and although not party animals anymore and have lived in a quite area in the UK for 20 years having to travel normally about 10 20 mins to restaurants. we were hoping that Tahiche had some bars and restaurants so we did not always have to travel. All the searches we have made shows most of the bars restaurants in costa Teguise, can anyone advise. Also although we are looking forward to getting to know Spainish locals is there a ex pat community as well.

kind regards Lisa

Tahiche is great. And if yo want to know Canarians, learn to speak spanish.  And if you want to live on Lanzarote, learn to speak spanish. And if you're only interested inn being with ex-pats - move to Costa T, PLaya Blanca or Puerto Del Carmen.  I live in the north end of the island, north of Tahiche and wouldn't trade that for any of the ex-pat centres.  Tahiche also has the world's best bakery - Levain's!  The north of island is wonderful and from Tahiche you have great access to anywhere - great choice!

There will always be a sociad where you can get very reasonably priced food, whichever town or village you live in, don't expect them to speak English or serve English food though. I agree with the other reply, I too live in the north & wouldn't trade it to live in a British ghetto.
