Saturday 21st October 2023 lost the camera, it is a red compact camera  - it may have fallen out of the car when we parked on the street. It’s quite an old camera (about 6 years old) but it has a lot of photos on it that I would prefer not to lose

Lost: I lost a tiny bag with new jewelries in it, around Mirador del Rio or Jameos del Agua - 0 replies

EmmieLi Posted by EmmieLi in Lost and found in Haria on Tue Jan 10, 2023 11:25am

The bag is around 5-10 cm big and has patterns in different darker colours. It closes by pulling a lace, a classic bag you get when you buy jewelries. Inside is one neckless and one ring. They are matching and are both in gold and with green rocks. I bought it in a little atelier in Teguise called L’atelier artmakers and the jewelries has a high sentimental value to me. We then traveled to Mirador del Rio and Mirador Graciosa to look at the views and I might have lost it there since I had it in my jacket pocket. After that we went to Jameos del Agua to look at the caves and it’s also possible that it fell out there. I am now back in Sweden and if anyone has found this bag I will gladly pay you to send it to me.

Buying a property in Haria - 3 replies

koahhe Posted by koahhe in General Haria discussion on Thu Dec 15, 2022 10:21pm

Hi everybody,

We are thinking about buying a property in Haria, but we have a few concerns.

We love the village for being very green and peaceful. However, most of the times when we visited, we found it to be cloudier and windier than the rest of the island. We didn't see much sun at all. Is it because we always ended up there in winter or is it generally like that?

If we buy the property, initially we will most likely spend mainly winters in Haria, so maximum 4 months per year. How difficult do you think it is to rent the property out for the rest of the year? Are there chances to have an empty property for a long time because this area is not full of tourists and it does not get as much sun as the South?

We would get a mortgage for the property so it would be nice to know that we can generate some income to cover the mortgage payments.

If you have any mortgage broker recommendations, please send them my way.

Many thanks and Merry Christmas to all of you!

Lanzadrums Posted by Lanzadrums in Residency in Haria: padron, residencia and passport advice on Thu Apr 21, 2022 12:40pm

Hi, having recently changed our old large green A4 permanent residecia to the newer TIE when booking flights recently to Tenrife and just this day to Bilbao where there was always a message that you should produce paperwork to prove the discount now it seems it is now not needed. On both recent occasions we have had a message back from Binter and Vuelling stating that no further documents need to be shown at the airport.

So does anyone know whether the Viajes paper has now become surplus to requierment.

I have today booked the ferry return to Huelva and the same thing, not asked or need to show Viajes?

Many Thanks

Renovation subsidies - 0 replies

Jeanphi Posted by Jeanphi in General property discussion in Haria on Mon Feb 22, 2021 7:40am

Hello there,

We were told by a realtor that in case of renovation of a building classified by the department of patrimony as of historical importance, renovation work can be reimbursed by the government by up to 40%. You would have to pay upfront and would be reimbursed upon presentation of the invoices.

Has anyone heard of anything like that? Does anyone have experience applying for this kind of subsidies?

Many thanks in advance, kind regards,

Jean-Philippe

Applying for EU Residency Certificate - 0 replies

Susan22 Posted by Susan22 in Brexit and the EU: living, holidaying and moving to Haria on Wed Jul 15, 2020 10:04pm

Hi, has any Brit done this yet, in light of Brexit as of 1st January 2021? Is it hard to get? I merely want to continue to have long winters in Lanzarote. Does it carry added responsibilities to Spain, like taxes? Thanks for any experience you can relate.  Susan
