Digital Nomad moving to Lanzarote

Hello,

I am currently going through the process of acquiring a digital nomad visa for Spain (Lanzarote) which will entitle me to 1 year stay with a view to extending or resedencia if all goes well. 

Over the years i've spent so much time in Lanzarote over the years and it feels like home from home, the move will be solo with a view to remote working for a USA based company.

39, Single with no kids and wondered if there's much in the way of local Digital Nomad meet ups or communities? mainly to make new friends to enjoy food and travel the island etc.

I'm expecting friends from the u.k will visit at some point for the free holiday obviously ;)

Luggage is another question... most airlines limit to 3 suitcases and require £12 per kg and my cases were priced at £900. I cannot seem to find a luggage forwarding company that will go to Lanzarote. 

Any tips on shipping luggage/small equipment items from expats would be awesome.

I plan to rent for up to 6 months and found that Airbnb offer discounts on block bookings but if there are any other websites I should check that would also be very kindly received.

Is the cat charity still operating? I wouldn't mind helping out feeding etc while spending time on the island
