What colour should a house roof be

I have recently purchased a villa in Lanzarote and the roof has been painted green. Is this alright or should it be white
Most roofs here are white as it reflects the heat. Ensure you get a good painter to do it as they´ll do a thorough clean (which is essential) and do any repairs that are necessary prior to painting. I can recommend Lee Womesley at Colour Team - https://colourteamlanzarote.com/
