Bank Account

I recently bought property with the help of banco Sabadell in Costa Teguise.

Have no other bank to compare with ofcourse, but I am a happy customer.

Having now been with four banks a pattern is emerging.

You open your first account at a convenient local branch.  The team provides an excellent service.

Then one of two things happens:

1. Staff move and replacements can sometimes be less helpful.

2.  The bank group is taken over or merges.  Culture changes, different conditions introduced, service deteriorates....you move on.

For the last twelve months, we have had an excellent service from Sabadell but 'rumour control' suggests that a merger may be in the offing.

UK banks and customer service have also declined over the last decade.

That is my view for what it is worth.
