Hello Mick, you must wear a mask where a distance of 1.5m cannot be maintained.  Therefore, it's compulsory in shops, supermarkets, shopping centres etc., and staff in bars expect you to wear a mask when walking to the toilet - out of common courtesy and respect.  All shops and bars have hand sanitiser at the entrance which must be used and some have it on each table for you to use regularly.  Tables in restaurants and bars have their tables distanced appropriately and you must not move from table to table.  Lots of places reopening on a daily basis in the resorts (some with restricted hours/days) but not many hotels yet. Inland towns such as Tias and the capital Arrecife are almost back to normal.  Hope this helps.  P.S.  You must carry a mask with you at all times as Police can fine you for not doing so.  Masks can be purchased from pharmacies (under a Euro each).
