Although I can't help you with the house sitting possibilities at this moment, I just thought I'd drop you a message to say hi! My husband and I relocated to Lanzarote (Mala) just over 4 years ago, and we were from Windsor beforehand so it would be lovely to maybe meet up with you when you do come over. We also have a dog and two cats (until quite recently 4 dogs in total ;( )

Thank you for your message and if we do get over to Lanzarote for any length of time, it will be nice to know there are people that have come from the same neck of the woods us. And the potential for maybe looking after your animals.

FYI someone did actually come back for us who are looking for dog/housesitters to cover from  beginning of December until near the end of April (although obviously we could only do it for up to 90 days Max). So we may well be over there for a little while.

I am sure you're having some wonderful weather over there as opposed to the cold and wet weather we're having here.  

By the way, we're both therapists and I'm wondering whether you know if there is any potential to work as an English speaking counsellor in Lanzarote?

Dear Bernie, I'm ever so sorry for the very late reply!!! I've just returned from the UK myself after 4 months, for treatment on my neck. 

Anyway, I hope your plans to come over are moving in the right direction? And I do think they is a need for more English speaking therapists on the island, speaking from my own experience. And also that of friend who works for an insurance brokers...she was struggling to find them last year for her clients.

Thanks for your reply and no problem it being late. We're not able to go anywhere just yet anyway!

I hope you got your necked sorted. As someone who has experience of neck/back/hip problems, I don't envy you (that will teach me to jump out of an aeroplane in my youth, after too little sleep and too much to drink)!

Still nothing definite about if/when we'll be on the island and will let you know if we make it.  In the meantime, thank you for info re counselling possibilities.
