It’s all hype by the UK press.  The protests which are throughout the Canary Islands are not about tourists.  The Spanish and many other nationalities are protesting about the woeful lack of accommodation for workers. All the hotels, bars and restaurants are having major staffing problems as there is no affordable accommodation for people and far too many high priced holiday lets and hotels.  Lanzais a beautiful, safe holiday destination and will remain so.

I totally agree with Ginny23. Lanzarote is not an issue.  The Canarian citizens feel very forgotten by the government in so many ways. Tourists are highly regarded at all times when they act in a civilised manner. I live here and there are no issues.
