I've bought a property  in Costa teguise

Which we love. I need to know is it cheaper  to use the washing  machine overnight.  If so what time does electric  get cheaper  in the evening.  Thank you.

May be of help to you or go to the Endesa office and get your potencia changed for a lower tarriff plus we also get 2 free hours each day

It depends which tariff you´re on.  If you´re with Endesa, check your bill and create your on-line account, so you can see your tariff and other more in-depth information.  You may need to change the tariff or you might find another that suits you better like the 2 free hours each day etc...

We don't live here though we've got a holiday home. Does that make a difference.

I don´t think it matters whether you´re resident or not.  Create an online account (very easy with Endesa, if this is who you are with and you can click the English version once in your account) then you can see your usage, potencia etc., you can change tariffs at the click of a button.  Also, you are not tied into a particular tariff for any length of time so if one doesn´t suit, change to another and another!  Careful with your potencia, if this is too low you´ll start tripping your switches if, for example you try to use the washing machine at the same time as your oven and other appliances.

I’ll be honest I’m not really sure if residencia makes any difference these days on electric bills but certainly if you have a high potencia which is the tariff you will pay more, as I stated we also get the free 2 hours daily, the hours you can pick, which is very handy for things like washing machines etc. The diagram also shows you when you get a cheaper rate so using a timer overnight would certainly work
